The LASERTEC-Shape series stand for a maximum of process security and repeatability. Most fine shapes and cavities for the production of extrusion dies, die casting molds, inscriptions and other engravings can be machined in highest quality with a laser diameter of min. 30 μm and without tool wear. Further on, flexible laser-texturing of complex surface structures in mold components for automotive tool construction or PET-blowmolds and periphery machining of cutting rolls is possible now in a most economical way and with highest productivity.
With the machines of the LASERTEC PrecisionTool series DMG presents a new product line that is focused exclusively on manufacturing of precision tools. The application range reaches from the production of clearance angles and cutting edges (cutting plates, end milling-cutters and reamers in PCD / CVD) to the production of chip-breakers and chip-breaker-geometries in PCD / CBN / carbide inserts up to the blanking of cutting plates in PCD / CBN. A user-friendly production from prototypes, over small, up to large series is enabled by particular applied software features.
The modular machine concept with 3 or up to 5 CNC controlled axes enables the most flexible application of the LASERTEC FineCutting product line for highly dynamic precision cutting of fine cutting pieces in the 2D- and 3D-area. The laser source can be chosen individually according to the workpiece requirements concerning quality, speed and material. Available are fibre-, Nd:YAG- and CO² lasers with different laser power which enable fine cutting pieces with up to 6 mm material thickness and a minimum laser cutting gap of 20 μm. Already today prototypes and small series of stampings like stencils, apparatus construction parts, watch parts, medical implants and spinnerets for textile fibres are produced successfully on the LASERTEC FineCutting machines.
The machine concept of the PowerDrill series is particularly designed for the 5-axis laser precision drilling of industrial gas turbine and Aerospace turbine components. Via percussion, trepanning or via the simultaneous 5-axis machining precise cooling holes with partly conical and cylindrical shape can be laser drilled, even in thermal barrier coatings of nozzle guide vanes / turbine blades. With existing cylindrical cooling holes, the LASERTEC 50 / 80 PowerShape can extend them with conical exit funnels using laser ablation. Other parts from the high pressure area of gas turbines are for example XXL pre-combustion and combustion chambers with diameters up to 1.300 mm. Special tailored PowerDrill software features enable a comfortable programming and machining of complex workpieces.
